CHANGELOG

What changed, and when

Every content change on this site, newest first. Facts are checked against the official IRAS and IMDA sources listed on the About page.

  1. Language switcher, checklist links and homepage figures

    • Chinese, Malay and Tamil pages are now available as draft translations, clearly marked until a native speaker has reviewed them. Pick a language at the top of any page.
    • Every checklist step now links to the matching page or tool on this site.
    • The homepage benefits now include two headline figures: savings of up to $20 per invoice, and invoice error rates lowered by up to 50%.
  2. Chinese, Malay and Tamil versions prepared

    • The site can now be shown in Simplified Chinese, Malay and Tamil. Translations are unofficial and the English version prevails.
    • A page is published in a language only after a native speaker has reviewed every sentence on it.
  3. Split into pages by topic

    • The long homepage is now a short overview with the checklist. Dates and the calculator, free software and grants, how it works, POS and retail, and the FAQ each have their own page.
  4. New answers from the IRAS FAQ, and a more precise date calculator

    • New FAQ answers: POS and aggregated sales, the submission deadline, acknowledgement IDs, resubmissions and credit notes, GST group registration, customers not on InvoiceNow, and penalties.
    • The date calculator now follows IRAS FAQ Q1.5 to Q1.12 and Q7.2: non-calendar accounting periods, nil returns, part-year returns, voluntary and new compulsory registrants, redomiciled companies, excluded businesses and GST groups.
  5. Clearer independence and provenance

    • Every page now opens with a banner saying this site is independent and not affiliated with IRAS or IMDA.
    • New About page: why the site exists, how content is checked, and privacy.
    • New public changelog (this page).
    • The homepage shows the date the content was last checked against official sources.
  6. Content checked against the latest IRAS and IMDA sources

    • Free-of-charge package: now follows IMDA’s list of 17 Sep 2026 (free with no conditions, available until 31 Mar 2031, dates differ by provider). Removed the unsourced line that some providers charge per use or by subscription.
    • Exemptions: replaced “exemption requests are refused” with what IRAS FAQ Q2.6 and Q1.14 actually say.
    • Sources are now cited per sentence, with FAQ question numbers and e-Tax Guide paragraphs.
    • Removed three homepage statistics (savings per invoice, payment speed, error rates) that we could not trace to an official source.
    • The 3 to 12 months guide for connecting an in-house system now cites e-Tax Guide para 13.6.
